1. Accepting these terms
By creating a Datafolks account, you agree to this version of the Participant Terms. The application records the version, timestamp, account identifier, acceptance method, locale, and app version. The Privacy Notice is provided separately and is acknowledged rather than treated as consent to every use of personal data.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. Do not create an account if local law prevents you from using the service or performing the types of tasks offered.
2. Accounts and accurate information
Keep your sign-in credentials secure and provide accurate eligibility, country, age, language, equipment, and screening information. One person may not operate multiple accounts to obtain duplicate assignments. Tell us through the support method shown in the app if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
We may restrict or close an account for fraud, impersonation, unsafe conduct, repeated submission of content you do not have the right to provide, or material breach of these terms. Where required by law, we will provide reasons and an opportunity to challenge a decision.
3. Tasks are optional
An assignment is an invitation to perform a defined task. You may choose whether to start it. The task brief shows the requested result, instructions, eligibility, expected time, acceptance criteria, data-use notice, reward, deadline, and the specific license version that applies.
Availability is not guaranteed. A task may expire or be withdrawn before you start. Once started, submit it before the stated deadline. Do not perform a task that appears illegal, unsafe, misleading, or inconsistent with its brief.
4. Review, changes, and rewards
We review submissions against the acceptance criteria shown before you start. We may accept a submission, request reasonable changes, reject it with a reason, or investigate suspected fraud. A reward becomes earned only when the submission is accepted, unless mandatory local law requires otherwise.
The assignment record preserves the offered amount and currency. Withdrawal methods, fees, minimum amounts, timing, tax forms, and supported countries will be disclosed before real payouts are enabled. Beta balances and test rewards are not payable unless the task expressly says that it is a paid production task.
5. Your relationship with Datafolks
The parties intend each participant to act independently, choose whether to accept tasks, and use their own ordinary equipment. Nothing in these terms gives either party authority to bind the other.
This description does not override mandatory law. Employment, worker, contractor, tax, social insurance, and platform-work status depend on the facts and the law where work is performed. Datafolks will apply rights and obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded by contract.
6. Submitted material and task licenses
You keep ownership of material you create unless a task-specific document clearly states otherwise. Before a task starts, the app displays a direct link to the applicable Task Content License and asks you to accept that exact version. The accepted license version, URL, content hash, task data-use notice, and acceptance time are stored with the assignment.
A later license does not replace the version already accepted for an assignment. If a task needs different rights, a new license version must be shown and accepted before that task starts.
7. Content and conduct rules
Unless the task and its license expressly allow it, do not submit:
- another person’s face, voice, name, private communications, documents, or personal information;
- copyrighted music, video, artwork, software screens, or other material you did not create or have permission to license;
- passwords, financial account details, government identifiers, health records, precise private addresses, or intimate content;
- illegal, deceptive, discriminatory, harassing, exploitative, or dangerous material;
- malware, manipulated evidence, duplicate submissions, or content generated contrary to the task instructions.
Datafolks does not currently support third-party model releases or property-owner signatures. Tasks requiring them must not be published until a separate signing workflow is available.
8. Privacy
The Privacy Notice explains what personal data is collected, why it is used, who receives it, how long it is kept, international transfers, and available rights. Task-specific data-use notices provide additional information before collection. Where law requires consent for a distinct use, that consent must be requested separately and may be withdrawn as described in the relevant notice.
9. Service changes and document versions
We may change the service and publish a new version of these terms. New accounts accept the version current at registration. Existing participants will be asked to accept a new version when a material change requires renewed agreement. Historical versions and acceptance records remain preserved.
Changes do not retroactively replace a task license already accepted for a submission.
10. Account deletion and retained records
You may request account deletion in Settings. The sign-in account and profile are deleted. Completed assignments, submissions, uploaded content, rewards, payout records, and legal acceptance evidence may be retained under a random pseudonym when needed to perform the contract, preserve licensed datasets, prevent fraud, comply with law, resolve disputes, or establish legal claims. The Privacy Notice explains the applicable criteria and rights.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The beta service is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, Datafolks does not guarantee continuous availability, any number of assignments, acceptance of non-conforming work, or a particular level of earnings. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or participant rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Disputes and contact
Raise questions or disputes through the support method shown in the app. Before public paid tasks open, this section must identify the legal operator, contact address, governing law, forum, and any mandatory local complaint or platform-work procedure. Participants keep any mandatory rights available where they live or perform work.
